ACID HOUSE ZINE - VINYL COLLECTION (2018)
To create this unique collection of prints I used multiple illustration, collage, still-life photography, typography, graphic design techniques, and digital and analogue printing (screen printing).
- The final designs are a combination of digital printing and screen printing methods with the use of glow in the dark ink and fluorescent green ink, and paper, in contrast to the B/W colour scheme, to reflect the characteristics of an early Acid House scene.
Original Acid House Records were brought from Germany. I fully redesigned its labels and sleeves that are laser cut and handmade.
I created the collection of Acid House vinyl records as an untraditional form of a Fan-Zine publication, exploring the mid - 1980s to the early 1990s UK's music scene.
I realized that era when individuals have been misleadingly seen as a generation of anarchic troublemakers has something to teach us. The fact that today's Society lacks a sense of community and togetherness was what led me to create an atypical 'publication' that retrospectively highlights the early house music scene and its positive familial elements.
Combination of screen printing, digital printing, letterpress, illustration, photography and image manipulation techniques was used to create this project.
